RPK to be charged tomorrow

Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin is expected to be charged tomorrow for criminal defamation in relation to his statutory declaration on Mongolian Altantuya. He has been ordered to turn up at the KL police headquarters tomorrow and then to the KL Court Complex in Jalan Duta. RPK, when contacted today, said he is prepared for the case and ready to defend himself.

BN has turned Malaysia into a police state.
What "dynamic democracy" is there here?
Murderers, Ah Longs, Corrupt leaders, robbers all walk free. But opposition leaders go to prison with unproven charges. And demonstrators get beaten to a pulp. And policemen shamelessly divide the "spoils" among themselves and are even brazen enough to lodge police reports against their colleagues for not sharing the spoils "fairly". The country is in a shameful state.

This whole episodes of arrest is a shame to Malaysia. I am so embarrass to be a Malaysian currently as only in Malaysia a sodomy case is treated even bigger than a murder and rape cases.

Our economy is plunging and Malaysia is becoming a laughing stock of the international community and the uncapable PM and his equally uncapable DPM is more concern about the protecting guilty high ranking officials and arresting the opposition.

Its about time we have more interlectual leaders in the BN goverment.

What an utter SHAME!

I agree with Edwin. The Malaysian govt. has once again brought embarrassment to its citizens around the world. It would be better if the govt. abolishes democracy, the constitution, the rule of law and declares Malaysia a police state. At least then you can't fault it on its behaviour. Is Malaysia another Zimbabwe in the making? I see alarming similarities between Mugabe and his regime and BN. I hope the MPs of Sarawak and Sabah can do something to save Malaysia.

What is the matter with the police?
Why does it take a few truck loads of policemen aremed to the teeth to arrest an unarmed 62 year old man with a back back? And all over an unproven charge of sodomy?
Makes me wanna puke.
If once I had any doubts left on the sincerity of Badawi, now there is no doubt any more that he is NOT sincere in reforms even with 2 years left.
DISGUSTED MALAYSIAN

Dear Chun Wai,

Sometimes I wonder who is the real RPK. Some of his accusations border on the delusional. If ever Rosmah is involved in Altantuya's murder, she won't be at the crime scene. Stupid she's not. She's the consummate politician's wife. She won't commiit blunders that will thwart her burning ambition to be First Lady.
