More to fight for Umno deputy president post

Barely 24 hours after Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced his decision to vie for the deputy president post, the word is that there could be more aspirants for the race. There is every indication to expect a crowded race for the post, at least for now. These aspirants would need 38 nominations from the 191 divisions and certainly not all would get it. Those said to be interested include Dr Rais Yatim, Ali Rustam, Zulhasnan Rafique, Hishamuddin Hussein Onn, Muyhiddin Yassin, Tajol Rosli and even Muhammad Taib. The post is expected to be left vacant with Najib Tun Razak going up the party ladder. By convention, the Umno deputy president is usually the DPM, thus the high political stakes. Expect plenty of fireworks if the race is going to be a tight one. One or two would probably pull out of the race with the "ballon testing" shows they have little chances of winning or even securing the nominations. Expect fireworks and mudslinging if the race is a tight one.

Dato Wong, are you not counting the chickens before they are hatched?
What, if PM decides to seek for re-election as President of UMNO and take on the challenge head on. In politics, strange things do happen.
Has'nt the component parties of BN, any say, who should be the PM of this country?
The arrogance of UMNO, ignoring the views of the rakyat, will not fair them well in the next GE.

I'm delighted when my previous postings attracted so many anonynmouses with some pressing me to suggest our future PM. Honestly I feel that Sdr. Lim Kit Siang is a PM material. Meanwhile both Mr. Uthayakumar and Miss Teresa Kok can be a good DPM. I reckon we're now in agreement, aren't we?

Dear Datuk,

In all the anxiety and ernest for aspirant candidates to fill the vacancies, they must realise that what they are clamouring for are not positions that their predecessors used to enjoy. Respect, influence, dignity and leadership.

UMNO is UMNO. The UMNO leadership tussle is UMNO's business. We cannot assume now that the leader and the no.2 in UMNO will automatically be the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.

UMNO's business is yes, the President and Deputy President, the Vice Presidents, the Supreme Council members and so on so forth.

But when deciding the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, they have to be very careful to articulate it through the Barisan Nasional forum.

With the new leadership plan, UMNO will look good, so too I beleive the other component parties. Its how they are going to work together to bring back the confidence and work forward together for a better Malaysia.

Yours truly:
Anak Malaysia.

Fikirkanlah.

Malaysia need a loyal leader - seen a leader for all races.

I am praying for mohd taib to win because only then malaysia will get the "respect" it deserves. Secondly how a "damaged goods" after against tremendous odds can climb up to become the second man. Thirdly we can tell our filipino brothers that if they can have an ex movie star to become their president, we have our very own active clown becoming the second man of our country.

The only nagging worry amongst us malaysians is that; led by Mohd Taib who confessed to "me no spiki inglis", most of the rest are also; to put it in Manglish,"their England-speaking not so powderful" . God help us all....

With all these jokers playing punk and easy access to the country vault, does it mean we will have more MALAYSIANS HAVING PLAIN RICE AND SALT, I am not insulting the EGG here but the NO SPEA KE LA INGLISH. Ever wonder where he keeps his money? In his brief case DOWN UNDER?
With these calibre of leaders, we're doomed to be the laughing stock of the world.
No integrity, honor, courage and sense of fair play.

There will be a lot of back stabbing and blood letting coming up. There will be teams that feel cheated and want revenge. They will pull out from UMNO when they don't get what they want. And the same will go for MCA and Gerakan. And that's where the fun will start. The BN coalition will get smaller and more precarious! And these guys/gals who did not get their positions within BN will then blackmail BN about joining PR. MMmmm BN component party leaders, esp UMNO will have a lot of sleepless nights.

Please don't call the candidates "horses". You are insulting a very noble animal, and some umno jokers will file a police report against you for insulting the horse. Please call the candidates black snakes, or something like that.
