A mere fine is not fine with us

Jail the graft offenders and confiscate their assets instead of letting them get away with a fine. To be jailed for two years is nothing if the offender gets to keep his misgotten millions.

It always looks good on paper but the difficult part is implementing proposals on improving things in the country. Public expectations are high and no one can blame Malaysians for running out of patience.

The living standards of Malaysians have basically gone down while the cost of living has shot up.

The streets are no longer safe and public confidence in the ability of our police force to protect us is eroding. Only those in denial mode will tell us that corruption has not gone out of control. It is fast in danger of becoming a way of life, very much the Indonesia and Thailand way. Our politicians can argue that it is merely a perception but try telling ordinary Malaysians that.

Sir,

I know you haven't published a few of my comments. It is fine because it is within your rights. It's your blog.

If only the Star newspapers do less spinning and more on truths, even half-truths will not do, only then there be hope for a better future.

The same goes for other MSMs.

Merry Xmas & HNY.

Dear Wong,

YOU ARE RIGHT. CORRUPTION IS THE MOST SERIOUS THREAT TO THIS COUNTRY.

THE MACC IS FAST BECOMING A SICK JOKE BUT SADLY NOBODY IS LAUGHING.

IT CAN ONLY MAKE NOISES AND PROMISES BUT UP TO NOW, THERE IS NO REAL RESULTS TO SHOW FOR ALL THE NOISE IT MAKES.

TO THE PUBLIC IT IS A BLIND, DEAF, LAME AND TOOTHLESS KITTEN !!!!

FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS ARE SHUNNING US LIKE A PLAGUE.

THIS IS SAD BUT TRUE.

Yes, you are right. Let's start with the top and jail some cabinet ministers and ex-ministers. The we will know that reforms are for real. Otherwise all talk about fighting corruption is just more hot air. Jet engines disappearing! Billions of dollars disappearing! What's next? The whole country treasury disappearing? At the rate things are going, that is highly possible.
