Ahmad Ismail should apologise, not Najib

Why should the Deputy Prime Minister be apologising on behalf of Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail (left)? Nobody is seeking an apology from Najib Tun Razak but from Ahmad Ismail for his offensive remark. Ahmad Ismail alone should take responsibility for his action. If he is brave, or stupid enough, to call the Chinese "pendatang," then he should be man enough to make an apology. Why should this be so difficult for him? Worse, he has kept himself away from the media, refusing to respond to queries from reporters. By being evasive, he is letting the controversy drag on, which is not doing him or his party any good.
Ahmad Ismail should be a lesson for Umno, ahead of the general assembly at the end of the year, where the speakers sometimes get carried away with their rhetoric. There is little to gain for politicians who attempt to project themselves as champions of their communities. It should also be a reminder to bosses of television stations who sometimes forget their viewers comprise of Malaysians of all races. TV reporters and interviewers sometimes uses the term "orang kita" during interviews without realising, probably unintentionally and unknowingly, that it is not just politically incorrect but not proper.

This Ahmad Ismail is a coward and somebody apologises for him shows that this cheap-skate or low moral politician is a product of arrogant UMNO all the while. It is like when you commit a murder, someone takes the blame for you and you got scot-free.This whole episode does not end there and if this coward does not come out openly to apologise for his inflammatory remarks,I bet serious repercussions would occur in the coalition's government in these couple of days.

Chun Wai,

You said it - "Ahmad Ismail should apologise..."

Not only to Malaysians of Chinese origin but to all peace-loving and multi-cultural Malaysians. We are all sick and tired of all the racism perpetuated by UNMO lately to try to regain the lost support of Malay voters in the country.

The non-Malays are not against Malay leadership in this country - I don't give a damn if a big majority of our leaders are Malaysians of Malay origin as long as they are not racist or arrogrant, free of corruption, fair to all and competent in running this country.

This is what Merdeka means to me - and to a lot of others, I'm sure.

Mind you they have their own National Front.

Apologise is a MUST already from him, and if he ever want to do it,do it sincerely.Action also should be rendered.

And also how did she felt when she heard it, hum.. I just wonder.- Ex-Neutral.

Sometimes i wonder does every malaysian ready the true malsysian history? Hey we are all pendatang and invader..The true residents are the orang asli in Malaysia.
Don't be stupid thinking that who govern of conquer this piece of land can be consider tuan. Switch on the TV or surf the internet to know how small malaysia is on this planet. If no understanding n toleration then Malaysia will repeat its history before world war 2. Ahmad Ismail statement shows how uneducated he is. We should not waste time on this sort of person.

I think it is too late to apologize now. This Ahmad Ismail has chosen to keep quiet. If he was sincere he would have come out by now and said sorry instead of the DPM and PM himself faalling over each other to defend this politician.
I'm sure there's a lot of strategizing going on behind closed doors even right now. And soon this Ahmad Ismail will come out of hiding and offer a half-hearted apology like the many we have heard in the past from these UMNO politicians.

In case anybody interested.

Ahmad Ismail is considered a Badawi man. He was linked to the PORR project in Penang. He is one of UMNO strongman in Penang.

This would explain Badawi's response and Najib's response.

I think it is gratious for Najib to offer the apology. But then,he has nothing to lose. d

Rakyat sedang memerhatikan setiap gerak geri pemimpin UMNO. Mereka perlu lebih berhati - hati dlm membuat kenyataan. Jgn ikut perasaan dan emosi bagaikan Pemimpin Syok Sendiri. Mereka perlu faham implikasi disebalik tingkah laku mereka. Insaflah.

Buat semua rakyat Malaysia,
Mulai hari ini sehingga menjelang 16 September, sempena Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia ke-45 marilah beramai-ramai kibarkan bendera Malaysia.

Jika sepanjang sambutan 51 tahun Malaya Merdeka yang lalu anda terlupa mengibarkan bendera, apa salahnya kita mulakan sekarang gerakan kempen kibarkan bendera menjelang Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia ke-45 ini.

Terima kasih

Ahmad has got more worries than apologizing to the "pendatang" !
Now PDC is after him! Let's hope that ACA will do its job properly with this fella. Maybe this "pendatang" has scooted to Indonesia, Middle East or Bangladesh, or whichever country of origin he was from.

Uncle LGE is coming to take you away. You see, he has lots of questions for you and the PPSB thingy. So it is ok if you don't want to apologize for that seditious speech. We don't want your apology. We want you arrested under ISA. And if that is not going to happen, maybe Uncle LGE will get you on the PPSB thing. Loo See Liau lah !

To the PKR leaders who may read Chun Wai's blog, I want to ask :
- Why the hell is Zulkifli Nordin still in PKR ? Shouldn't he be sacked ? It is OK if we need 31 seats instead of 30 to get PR tolead the government. It makes no difference. If this man is allowed to continue to be PKR or any PR party, he will be the virus that lead to disharmony in PR. If he is allowed to stay in PKR, people like me who is currently supporting PR, will stop supporting PR. Get this shit man Zulkifli Nordin out of PKR. Let him go to UMNO where he should be more at home. SACK HIM !!! Anwar, we are watching you to see if you are the real thing that can change Malaysia, or if you are just more of the same shit that is like UMNO.

Anonymous said...

Yes, Suresh, you are right. This Zulkifli fella is a devil. We are asking PKR, especially DSAI, to get rid of this bigot. DSAI, you must FIRE him before he does a saiful or a ezam to you. Zulkifli is probably sent to you by UMNO to undermine you. Watch out! Hello bloggers out there, please help get rid of this Zulkifli fella. Make sure DSAI gets the message loud and clear. It is OK to sacrifice one MP seat. He is a cancerous cell. Better discard it. Show Malaysians that PKR is what it says it is. This Zulkifli fella is WORSE than Ahmad. DSAI, please walk the talk !

Mr Wong C W,

The question here is whether the statement uttered by a political leader of ruling party UMNO had breached the sedition law of our country.

If there is sufficient evidence that he had breached the sedition law, then it is the responsibility of our public prosecutor to charge him in the open court. There is no need for public apology from Ahmad Ismail and he have to defend his statement in the open court.

If he is found guilty in the due process of court hearing, then it is the responsibility of judge to mete out the appropriate punishment under the sedition law.

If there is no action from government (most likely in this case judging from the comments from PM and DPM), then the rakyat should file reports to the police (which had been done) and we should wait for the response from the police after thier full investigations before we discuss and explore the next course of actions.

We should continue to monitor this case until full closure, ie. actions taken in the open court to charge and convict him and not letting this off as in the past.

There is a chinse proverb called "kill one to warn hundreds" (杀一儆百). If we can successfully convict Ahmad Ismail, then we will have successfully warned the many others in future, whether they are political leaders from the ruling BN, opposition parties, bloggers or man in the street.

It is the responsibilities of the police and public prosecutor to ensure the sedition law is upheld and maintain the unity and harmony of our society. If they can't do this basic job, then law makers might as well abolish this law.

This will free the PM, DPM and cabinet ministers from personally handling these "seditious" statements from their BN component parties which happen from time to time, in particular UMNO leaders, and focus their full attention on more pressing issues that concern the rakyat.

No need to apologise lah.. too late already. We already know that he is not sorry for making that statement, and we know that Pak Lah doesn't take it seriously either. To these UMNO people, it's the truth so why apologise? Their eyes blinded by easy money all these years so they can't see properly anymore.
How to give support to BN when it is full of arrogant people like this one..
