Breaking news: Mukhriz to stay on in Umno

Mukhriz Mahathir is staying on in Umno to fight it out. It come as no surprise as the Jerlun MP is eyeing the Umno Youth chief post. If he join his father in quitting, that would be the end of his political dream to helm the youth movement. There is talk that at least five branches in Kedah would close shop tonite following the dramatic decision of Dr Mahathir Mohamad to give up his party membership. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi met Umno MPs at Parliament today where they pledged their support for him. It will be the turn of the BN MPs tomorrow. Meanwhile, seasoned Malaysian journalist Ong Hock Chuan has blamed Dr Mahathir for some of the mess in the Abdullah Administration while another veteran scribe, Kadir Jasin, said Malaysians can expect Dr M to be more critical from now.

I'D LIKE TO SEE THE DESTRUCTION OF UMNO FOR GOOD! IT'S TIME MALAYSIANS, ESPECIALLY THE BRAINWASHED MALAYS TO WAKE UP FROM CONTINOUSLY BEING TREATED LIKE COWS; TO FOLLOW LIKE BRAINLESS IDIOTS OF UMNO'S POLITICIANS AND MALAY ELITE CLASS'S WHIMS! I KEPT HEARING IN THE NEWS HOW THE MALAYS MUST STAY UNITED FOR THE SAKE OF THE PARTY - EXCUSE ME; HOW ABOUT FOR THE GOOD OF THE RAKYAT INSTEAD! BESIDES, “MALAY UNITY” IS JUST ANOTHER IDEOLOGY AS “MALAY SUPREMACY” TO BRAINWASH MAINLY THE MALAY ORDINARY CLASS! UMNO ACTUALLY IS AN ELITIST, SADIST-MACHO, FASCIST AND RACIST PARTY, AND ONLY ENCOURAGE ORDINARY AND NAIVE MALAYS TO STAY SO, AS I WAS STUPIDLY ONCE!! SO IT'S TIME FOR A NEW DAWN IN MALAYSIAN POLITICS; WHERE DYNAMIC MULTICULTURALISM, GENUINE INTEGRATION AND TRUE SOCIAL JUSTICE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE POOR, AND WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE UPHELD! FURTHER, THIS SORRY NATION-STATE IS BECOMING MORE LIKE A TALIBAN/AL-QAEDA COUNTRY AS THE PROTEST IN PENANG ON FRIDAY IS ILLUSTRATING, WHEN A FANATICAL MALAYSIAN ISLAMIC GROUP IS DEMANDING TALIBAN/AL-QAEDA-LIKE BARBARIC AND PRIMITIVE LAWS SUCH AS DEATH FOR PEOPLE WHO LEAVE/RENOUNCE ISLAM! HOW COME UMNO & THE POLICE DID NOT CRUSH SUCH PROTEST AS THEY DO WITH MOST RAKYAT'S PROTEST AGAINST INJUSTICE AND ABUSES OF HUMAN RIGHTS? THAT'S ANOTHER REASON WHY UMNO MUST BE DESTROYED FOR GOOD FOR LETTING THIS SORRY NATION-STATE INTO FALLING FURTHER TOWARDS BARBARISM AND PRIMITIVISM!!

NOOR AZA OTHMAN.

mahathir is trying to fan the issue so that he can get all the publicity. We, who are not in UMNO should not help him to fan the flame. From now on we should be more restrain in our response and reaction to what he says and does.

Don’t help him, don’t fall into his trap. Just stand aside and watch!

@anonymous: The destruction of Umno is a gratifying thought but a dangerous one. Throughout the history of modern Malaysia each time the Malays are split they become insecure and they lash out with the ISA, OSA and whatever SAs they have.

The worry here is that with Umno in disarray, someone will take advantage of the situation, play the racial card, cause chaos an justify an Emergency Rule, th use of the ISA or other harsh measures to silence all opposition.

The MCA, DAP and other non-Malay parties should be very careful not to give anyone an excuse to play the racial card.

His move to stay on in UMNO has shown to all Malaysians that he is actually disagreed with his Father's latest act-quitting UMNO.Though Mukhriz Mahathir has openly supported his Father's decision, but he said he'll not relinquish his post as MP as well as his UMNO membership.

His motive is crystal clear. He is eyeing for the UMNO youth chief post.If he quits now, then his political dream will be shattered.

Nevertheless, during the 5.30pm press conference today,he claimed that the reason for him not to quit is because "HE IS LOYAL TO UMNO".What a gigantic lie from an idiot who thinks he can fool the whole world.Nincompoop!!

The first reaction from my Father after hearing the statement from Mukhriz is as follows:
"This shows how stupid the Malays are".

Initially,i thought that would be a racial statement. But after a deep thinking, what my Father said was not entirely wrong. The fact is that until today, there are still quite a lot of Malays being brainwashed(not trying to be racial). They just nod to almost evrything their leaders say. They fail to think logically and independently.(sorry,i'm just stating mere fact,no racial sentiment)

I end this post with a question:
Would Mukhriz ask the PM to step down if his Father,Mahathir did not criticise Pak Lah all this while???

My own conclusion from the question:
Mukhriz is a man who is easily influenced by his Father. And apparently,he will never become a wise politician. It is not shrewd if people elect him as the Youth Chief of UMNO.

Playing the racial cards seem to the stance of those who want to rise in the Malaysian political scene.

Since the geo-political equations have changed since 513, lets bear witness how it will turn out.

Play with fire let them be burnt by fire.

Dr. M has failed. His own son can see that the old man has gone senile.

A bankrupted politician and willing to resolve to racial politics and expense of the country to achieve his own personal agenda. The Malays are no fools.

He has done it many times with great success each time. But he forgot he is no longer the PM of the day.

ABB is the best we have from the corrupted UMNO. At least he is a PM with humility, compassions.

bye bye dr. m. Pls don’t come back. OK.

Let us Malaysians not resort to racial profiling and name-calling. If we are really serious in wanting to build a united Malaysia, these sorts of actions should be dropped. Build bridges instead of causing cracks. We have a responsibility to hand over a peaceful and harmonious nation to our future generations.

As an astute politician, TDM may think that resigning from UMNO now is the best strategy to unseat Pak Lah. But Pak Lah's position is simply unshakable, given the many party laws, put in place by TDM himself,to sageguard the position of the president. Age is fast catching up TDM. Soon he is going to find that his battle against Pak Lah is too strainous for his body to take. Many in UMNO see TDM as a spent force with no more lethal bullets and it is expedient for them to side with Pak Lah, whatever his failings and weaknesses. The best recourse for TDM is to withdraw from the political jungle and enjoy his twilight years with his wife and leave any legacy he still has untainted. The battle to bring down UMNO and its minion partners in BN is for younger people like Anwar Ibrahim.
