Put politics aside lah!

Can we just put politics aside? The Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaacob has asked Datuk Mokzani Mahathir to step down as Sepang International Circuit chairman. Mokzani may have quit as Umno member and the SIC post is a government appointment but it is more important whether he has done a good job. The Formula One is 10 years old and we know he has done well. Mokzani doesn't even get paid. Despite the glamour surrounding F1, it is not an easy job, especially now with Singapore hosting it for the first time. Sports and politics should never mixed. Mokzani has not even join another political party. In Penang, many of the committee members involved in Chingay and Dragon Boat come from different political parties. Gerakan, MCA or DAP, so what? It's no big deal as they merely share the same passion and want to make Penang shine. It's the same with FI.Please put politics aside lah.

I agree that the politics and sport should not mix. The irony is that the politiczing of sports was perpetuated during the time of mamak. But if what mamak did was wrong, we should not continue the wrong by taking it out on his son. But then again, what can you expect from UMNO and BN? By the same rotten spirit shown to Mokhzani, they are also victimizing the PR states too. The rot in the BN govt is too deep and wide to reform. BN must vacate, and let a new broom in to clean things up. A new broom is not afraid to expose the rot, whereas the current old broom is hiding a lot of rubbish and shit.

Same old, same old. In our beloved country, only half the talent can be used. The other half is tossed aside into the the gutter for one 'reason' or another. We then emerge half the poorer. We know that, the proponents of this culture know that, but they still self-righteously march on to their own different drummer, like the lemmings, to the edge of the cliff.

With most government or GLC post are appointed by the ruling government, this kind of response will truly happen.

Even when he is not getting paid, but I belief in his position he can also enjoy the prestige and money (from others source)

I have no love for MM, and frankly I think his sons benefited from MM's legacy. But then, I also think Mokhzani has done quite a decent job for the SIC. The move to remove him from SIC is not fair to Mokhzani, and really reflects badly on UMNO. The same bad spirit to remove Mokhzani from SIC is also being perpetuated in every aspect of society where the talented has been removed or blaocked, and people with no talent are put in place to run the government and other public institutions.
In contrast, the Pakatan Rakyat state governments have not been shy to recruit from BN component parties for public institution positions in their states. Cheers to the Pakatan Rakyat state governments!

Since when must GLC heads be an UMNO member ? Don't think it is or should be a criteria. If that was the case, Dato Seri Idris Jala should also be asked to leave as he is not an UMNO member never mind that he is doing an excellent job ! Give me a break la kan ...

The minister is just being emotional and trying to prop himself and his ministry up after the CYC issue.

Just ignore the sports minister's comments ... the minister is new so we have to excuse him for his silly antics. Pity that he was not privileged enough to get some rigorous and solid training from a multinational like Idris.

Come on Chun Wai, this is Malaysia, where the hearts of politician are known to be narrow. Mokhzani is occupying a seat which has a lot of clout and money generation opportunity so it is only natural to put someone from UMNO. That is their character, sapu semua. And you think Mokhzani wants to quit? No way, you think the Bumi wants NEP to end? Same thing, no way, becoz it promises easy life.

Ingatlah kamu sebelum kamu dingatkan.

read Rocky Bru's piece on this. Money Money Money

Those positions cannot cari makan..AMNO will avoid at all costs. And certainly a positon in SIC opens money making opportunities. Lighting costs, repair costs, sub contracting costs..you name it..AMNO is good at it.

Try a job opening with no money making perks and offer it to AMNO and see if they want it.

Mark my words, very soon F1 Singapore will overtake F1 Sepang in popularity and profit, much like the case of Singapore Airline and Malaysia Airline. With those UMNO 'fossils' running and ruining the country, this boleland will always play second fiddle to Singapore in the eyes of the international community. Perhaps it's unrealistic to compare a germ with a pebble. But there are many germs springing up in this region, and good luck to the bolehland people if they are satisfied to stay on as a pebble.

Wai Kor, either you are naive or you are just arguing for argument's sake. It's the contracts Umno is going after. Heard contracts worth more than RM40 million to be dished out for renovations, lighting in Sepang in preparation for next year's races.

My only question.

Since when did SIC ever belong to UMNO?

Azalina is always showing that she is incompetent as usual.

Look at the way she is downsizing Malaysia but excluding the PR controlled states from Calendar Signature Events.

At the rate we are going whether it is SIC or tourism our beloved Malaysia will be subjected to further mutilation after her tenure.

How can we have Half Past Six Minister who don't understand the basics of marketing as SIC & all tourist spots like Langkawi; Penang, Eco Tourism - caving in Perak are core major economic spinners.

IT ( coz Rafidah sneer her as being a Wanita) ought be either rehabilated or replaced otherwise the Rakyat will be face with Dooms Day>>>>

;o Chun Wai Plese use your Sword ! Pen them Down for Once!

We know you need a Good Job but please Do something for our Children & Grand Children! You have the Means & Know How!

May You Be Well & Happy Dear Brother!

Ku Li rightly pointed out in today's Star (pg 10) that Ismail & Azalina are abusing their powers as surely appointments are based on capabilities and not whether one is a member of UMNO or not.

My only regret is that Star did not give Ku Li's statement as much prominence as it did when Azalina made the call to ask Mokhzani to step down.

Mokhzani is appointed as Chairman of SIC by MAHB & MoF. So why are Ismail & Azalina making these silly remarks ?? It only shows their incompetency.

If only they know how many Petronas staff are pro opposition and SO against the government. What do they propose the government do with these employees then ? The list of non-UMNO members working and heading in GLC is endless ...

It's also foolish for the Sports Minister to say that he will boycott all SIC events for as long as Mokhzani is still the Chairman. I suppose the Chairman and Boards of Directors can always invite the Rulers to grace all future SIC functions.

Ismail and Azalina are just playing politics and Zaid Ibrahim must also be referring to them when he said that some UMNO members are still playing the 'old ways of politics' ...

pak lah has created new mind compare to previous administrator. He has given malaysian a freedom to express their view or opinion as long it does not effect our harmony.

We must remember what his father do to people that disagree with him even by destroying people businesses. For me it is right for his to resign but now he is playing a new game by showing that our PM is bad.
