Here's the good news! The Cabinet which met this morning has agreed that the live telecast of the parliament proceedings should proceed. Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek is expected to call for a press conference at 4pm to announce the decision. The Star has the story
It's certainly a wise decision. Shabery who initiated the decision for the live telecast called for a review after Wednesday's 30-minute delay of the question time. But several Cabinet ministers including Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, Datuk Shahrir Samad and Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen wanted the telecast to go on.

I am all for the live telecast to be continued. If not showing the "bad" behaviour of our MPs is the only reason for stopping it, then it is not a reason at all. What is wrong in letting people know how their MPs behave? What is there to hide. Let the people decide what is "good" and what is "bad" behaviour and let them know who they voted in!

So,let the show go on. Let our MPs show their real mettle. Let the voters know what their "horses" are doing in the rakyat's race for a better future. Views from the news say the over-spirited behaviour exhibited on the first day of telecast was due to MPs eagerness to play up to the gallery. Be warned though. If the gallery can make you, it can surely break you too. I think it was the telecast of UMNO members posturing and spewing chauvistic remarks at the UMNO general assembly that led to the public revulsion on "ketuanan melayu". The 12GE results is a deferred response to that unbridled display of arrogance. MPs, once again, mind your manners.
At least someone in the cabinet have some cow sense here.
Circus in the parliament is one thing. But stealing my TV show is another.
Now. stop playing with my remote.
The live TV broadcast must goon, so that the public knows how their MPs and Ministers behave in parliment. But I was disappointed with the initial knee jerk reaction of our PM and the other minister. There is this "ostrich" tendency where if something bad happens, they want to quickly hide their heads in the holes, and pretend nothing happened. By sweeping things under the carpet, they think the public can be fooled into thinking nothing bad is happening. They don't even know thw world has changed. Even if RTM is not there, the other MPs can record the proceedings in parliment using their phone cameras, or laptopwebcam, and post it on YouTube and their blog sites for us all to watch. Wake up UMNO, you cannot fool the Rakyat anymore.
that is a good news for us!
on off live telecast decision does not reflect on the wisdom on the decison makers. does taking off the live telecast means MPs will behave better? It will still be back to square one and they will still continue their circus out of sight from the "rakyat" eyes. When will the "rakyat" sees the day when the real business of running the government of the day and carrying out the work they have voted in for so that the "rakyat" reap the benefits that the country has to offer instead of being "hijacked" or "diverted" into the pockets of the some of the less than honourable MPs who claimed to represented "rakyat".
Sure the PM should be ashamed of the MPs' behaviour, but he should not try to hide the shame and pretend that nothing bad is happening. The rakyat should see the circus in parlimen. Similarly there are a lot of scams and corruption going on. The PM should not petend that nothing is happening. He should have an empowered ACA investigate the scams, and not pretend there are no scams. We got too many people with very low intellect in our cabinet trying to tell us what we should see/read, and what we should not. TIME FOR CHANGE.
the live telecast must be continued. the people want more openness and the political world must respond by raising their game.
