More on Avril - Malaysia gets the black eye

Check out this clip on YouTube by clicking on the image.

Nobody is certain whether the Avril Lavinge concert on Aug 29 is on or off. PAS politicians would love to see the Canadian rocker banned while ministry officials seem non committal - saying the timing isn't good (to please the Mullahs) but for safe measure, say they would only make a decision next week (just in case, someone high up tells them this banning business is a lot of bull). The statement from Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal isn't very clear either. The organisers, meanwhile, have yet to receive any letter to tell them the concert is off and tickets are still being sold. The advertisements continue on the radio and magazines. An online protest against the possible concert ban (www.avrillavigne.my/protest) has started. The organisers and the ministry officials have met for the past 48 hours. But for the time being, Malaysia has become a laughing stock around the world - simply because of a PAS politician and indecisive ministry officials.

The Minister better made up his mind. Either yes or no. Be fair to those who have bought the tickets and the the artist herself. Don't put her in a 'to come or not to come' position.

Same typical shitty ministers we have in malaysia. I wonder why they get paid so well and get so many perks. Our ministers cannot make decisions lah. Everything,is "We will let the PM decide lah". What the F&@# ! Why don't we just have one single minister the PM, and scrap the cabinet.
By the way, can we ban the sarong kebaya too. I find the women in sarong kebaya very sexy, as the dress show their curves fully, and the low cut neckline very seductive. And can we ban our women from taking part in swimming and gymnastics too? Very sexy outfit leh. And ban the man from athletics and football. The shorts reveal too much of the legs.
And please ban wrestling. It is so disgusting to see sweaty men grappling each other and smelling each other's body and armpits when they wrestle. And bodoh, please do not put your hands around bond girl's waist.

If Avril is too sexy then you should go see the govt approved bollywood movies screened almost every afternoon. I mean they put Inul of Indonesia to shame man.
If you want to stop sexy influence culture then go for the low fruits lah as they say. Ban all bollywood movies if you dare.

Please ban MTV and V on Astro. Just watch the highly suggestive dances by the men and women on MTV and V ! They are literally simulating having sex. And the outfits leave little to imagination. And see the way they debase the "Black Babes", making black women as sex objects. But then I doubt these channels will get banned. Those goons who go around asking for a ban on concerts just to appear pious, are probably masterbating in their rooms while watching channel MTV and V. And I wonder how many of these goons have more than 1 wife each. i find that those who go around condemning others in the name of religion are usually the corrupt ones in reality. The truly devoted religious people like "Mother Theresa" usually go about their religious activities quietly, without condemning others, and without seeking publicity. Devotion to God is between you and God.

If they are going to ban Avril, they might as well ban all the olympics live telecast especially ladies beach volleyball, gymnastics, swimming and synchronise swimming, athletics and damn... might as well ban the entire Olympics.

Too much politics has crept into governance of this country.

Time to boot them out!

the last time i check Rais Yatim is not in PAS. Yes, PAS oppose the idea and sent a memo whatever. It's up to the Minister to decide. So, whose fault it is? Rais Yatim la. Don't be such a pain la people, you are trying to blame the Taliban coz it's easy.

A lot of people send memo as an act of disagreement and people accept it as an act of tolerance but they don't really act what it's stated in the memo.

you guys aahhh like typical malaysian adults....STUPID! Bodo la korang.

This is also about the by election of Permatang Pauh! The cancellation made it looked like to please PAS youth but will get the non-Muslims angry with PK (which also had PAS in it). The non-Muslims will then vote for them in fear of PAS! Avril, welcome to Malaysia politics!

There seems to be large scale hypocrisy here. How is it that The Pussycat Dolls performed in Malaysia and these self-appointed guardians of Malaysian morality didn't let out a squeak. And it is no secret that The Pussycat Dolls are all about sexual turnons. And yet when it comes to Avril whose fan base is not men but teenyboppers, these same hysterical morals policemen go into repetitive convulsions!?!?

They have a huge dislike of female performers. Ella and Mas Idayu, Inul and then Avril; they went into major hysterics over these performers. Yet when that male singer pulled down his pants at the PKR rally, these same PAS Youth noise-makers hardly let out a peep.

So, it would seem that it is okay for a man to show his underwear to the women in the audience, but decently dressed female singers are somehow just IMMORAL!!

And yet they would have us believe that they are all about "protecting" the morals of Malaysian Muslim youth.

If they care so much about anything, they should use their energy and time going after the men who impregnate and abandon teenage girls; they should go after the hooligans on bikes - the Mat Rempits; they should go after men who will not pay alimony to their ex-wives. And the list goes on. So you see, as long as they make noise about lesser issues, they will be seen as hypocrites.
