New Cabinet - It's 3pm tomorrow

The PM will unveil his new Cabinet line up at 3pm tomorrow. At 10am, he would have an audience with the King at Istana Negara where he is expected to keep His Majesty informed of the new ministers. The announcement at Putrajaya is scheduled to be telecast live. It is understood that Najib Tun Razak spent the morning and afternoon today putting the final touches to the list. The Cabinet is certain to be leaner and smaller. Component heads of BN have been told that they needed to make "sacrifices" for the smaller Cabinet. Some of the ministries said to be abolished included those held by Umno leaders. A mixed of new and old faces are expected in the list.

New Cabinet does not interest us lah. We want genuine reforms. Don't make this into a piece of interesting news cause it's not. Who Najib puts there is not important if his plan for change revolves around populist announcements and blogging like Khir Toyol about 1Malaysia without understanding the sentiments of the rakyat.

WAKE UP!

The mainstream media's credebility is constantly brought into question, as their frequent ommission of key facts, biased coverage and blatant misreporting has led the Malaysian public to seek an alternative news outlet.

DOWN FROM TOWER TO TOWELS

When some people are no longer in high and mighty tower
They will feel sharply the loss of their political power
Some may not even easily throw in their overdued towels
Thinking that they can forever keep their public trowels

What smaller cabinet? Looks like it's getting bigger with more deputy minsiter. Window dressing ?
Why reduce the number of Minister by 2 or 3 but increase the number of deputy by 10?

The only thing inspiring about the new cabinet is that we no longer have our favourite punching bag, the botak fella who always makes the dumbest statements.

Except for juggling a few Ministers here & there, dropping those that comes with a baggage and appointing a few perhaps under "duress", the new Cabinet is not a reflection of one that can bring about new reforms.

Don't even understand why those that are rejected ended up being appointed as Ministers like Tsu Koon and Sharizat?

Everyone waited with bated breath for a highly charged new PM to bring in new reforms but how to do this with a bandwagon of has beens? Totally disappointing line up with nothing much for M'sians to look forward towards.

Will still placed my bets & support for PR. At least they dare make painful changes.

There's no doubt our new PM is trying hard to impress and win the hearts of the rakyat back. But after his Cabinet annoucement, I hope he has not doommed M'sians to annus horribilis:(

No shining star in the Cabinet...and plenty of rejects like ex Penang CM and new Wanita Umno chief.

We would be as happy as Larry if his 1Malaysia vision is translated into a more convincing Cabinet for at least we, M'sians, stand a better chance of climbing out of this sorry state of economic despair.

The results of the recent by-elections tells a lot. But then again, I can safely assume now that BN doesn't know shit from Shinola when it comes to the rakyat's needs after looking at the line up.

Good luck M'sia.....if it still matters..sigh!

HI WCW,

Was wondering why you had not done any analysis on the new Cabinet line-up? Sorry to say even your blog is getting downright boring as you do not seem to have anything to say at all....always thought it would have been nice to hear your perspective...and nothing at all about the implication of the bukit results...

Dear Datuk Wong,

I hope we share a common vision - a better New Malaysia. Can you elaborate more on this? Thanks

Ditto to Peter.

WCW, could you please elaborate on what you mean by a 'New Malaysia'?

My blog goes by the name 'The Middle Ground' but I have since shifted from middle hence the new name 'The "tilting" Middle Ground'.

Yours is 'New Malaysia' but what you write has so much in common with old Malaysia. So what is it?

Pray tell me since I'm confused. Are you a real Penangite that knows the only way forward for Penang and this country of ours is a Malaysian Malaysia?
