Breaking news! Another ex-Anwar aide joins Umno

Anuar Shaari, a former PKR leader and confidante of Anwar Ibrahim, has joined Umno. The former private secretary to Anwar handed his application letter to the Deputy Prime Minister at Parliament today, according to an SMS alert from The Star. Anuar was at one time the chief of the Permatang Pauh PKR division. Like Ezam Mohd Nor, he is said to have a feud with Azmin Ali, who has the ears of Anwar Ibrahim. For some political observers, it was a fight for the affection and attention of the big man. Finally, Azmin won. Ezam has said that it was Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's fight against corruption which made him decided to join Umno.

  1. Inilah dikatakan turning point utk UMNO kerana ramai di Keadilan tidak suka dgn Azmin!

  2. Hi ,
looks like the two blokes who joined umno are no hopers. umno is on the brink of collapse and I guess what these two fellas are going to do. What might have lured them did they barter principles for money. Nevertheless MAKKAL SAKTI rules from now on.

  4. My ribs... these are cheap charlatans. First of all, there is nothing they will for UMNO just like they didn't dent PKR's success. PKR bagged 300,000 new membes in the last 2 months if membership is of any importance including many good and capable people. But to quit a party because that you wanto be seen as the nearest to the leader shows what kind of scumbags they were.

UMNO itself doesn't trust them. Even Najib mentioned that in the Star today (N4). The new guy is not known to anyone and there is nothing he will do for UMNO. Unless, there is a deliberate network between Abdullah and Anwar to checkmate the Mahathir/Najib squad. That's why Mukhriz was agitated at the accepance of Ezam.

  7. this is a non news. PKR did better after they left. It is maybe a coincidence but PKR does not need race centric people like them. They can join UMNO.

  8. Good Riddance to Anuar. He is a big hypocrite. PM's fight against corruption. Pooh! What anti-corruption? The new PR state governments in Penang, Perak, Selangor and Kedah have found so much stink, especially in Penang and Selangor, committed both before and during sleepy head's time. What has sleepy head done to stop those nonsense. Imagine what Pakatan Rakyat can dig up at the federal level if they get into power. BN stinks. So it looks like Ezam and Anuar likes to hang around a stinky place with stinky people.

  10. The sinking ship
Crying out loud in her final days
    Body rusty holes cracking big
Yet the former sailors quickly return
    Telling all and sundry
    They want to help her

    Race base party is dinosaur
It is better left in the dustbin and more
The country can’t entertain these political leaders
The peoples’ power have shown it since

Time for change on March 8
Leaders who forget or dream of lofty wealth
They are out of touch of reality
    People want change now

    The former sailors can go
    Nobody will miss them
Let them fight to save the sinking ship
The people have other projects to think

    The sinking ship
    Sailing on the open sea
    Arrogant even in deep sorrow
    Nobody can help her
She is going deep into the water grave

White splashes echoing the past glory
In time the sailors will once again abandon ship
She has too much corrupted fiber connecting into her wires
Cleaning it up will take ages……
It is time to let her sink into the deep sea

The former sailors whoever they are
Now your cover is blown and creditability gone
The people wish you a sad journey
You will not be missed in our marching victory

  11. Breaking news, yes. But not earth shaking news. UMNO recruits the rejects, the kachang puteh and the nobodies. DAP is cleverly recruiting the brains. It speaks volumes of the leadership quality. You see, in UMNO they try to shaft the clever ones into the ground or kick them out for fear the clever ones may outshine them ( Remember how mamak kicks out dsai?). DAP leaders have not been shy to recruit people with brains, without fear of these brainy people outshining them.

  12. HA HA , what a joke! UMNO recruits two rejects from PKR, while Pakatan recruits two brains from BN, in the form of Lee and Tan. Hello,UMNO, if you want to boast of recruitment from Pakatan, you got to recruit the brains, not the rejected peanuts.

  13. Let all this racist Malays rot with the sinking UMNO. Without respect of multi-race Malaysia this people can never get far.

  14. Actually, this is a good lesson and development for Anwar because it should put paid to his unprincipled and immoral line re the creation of a government based on defections by BN MPs. If UMNO gets the rubbish that PKR would wish to throw in the backyard, PR will get, conversely, the rubbish from BN as well.

  15. Dato, lets look at the bigger picture. The return of Ezam into UMNO will strengthen Khairy Jamaluddin. It is an open secret that Ezam and KJ have been in cohort.

As such it was Ezam who convinced KJ to allow Anwar to be treated overseas when he was released from prison by issuing the former DPM his passport. Infact it was delivered by hand by KJ himself.

Maybe, as KJ realised he cant win the UMNO Youth chief post, Ezam will contest on his behalf. Ezam will win the UMNO Youth chief as KJ's proxy.

Maybe? As they say nothing is impossible in politics. And the biggest hurdle for Ezam and KJ is TunM himslef is in self-exiled from UMNO.

  16. In a way Ezam has been forced to join UMNO after he lost his struggle with Azmin to be Anwar's closest confidante. The fact that Anwar did not do anything to keep him makes Ezam feel unwanted and sidelined in Keadilan. Hence he has no choice but to join UMNO. But in doing so, Ezam will have a tough time explaining to the rakyat why he now would have to turn against all those who shared the same principles as him in battling corruption and supporting all those whom he once condemned for being corrupted. How is Ezam going explain his complete about turn stance to the people without being labeled traitor?

  18. Strange, a total stranger in politics and yet it is breaking news. No one actually reported about MIC Nijar leaving his post in MIC. That is what I call crisis in confidence within MIC. Shaken and very stirred.

  20. its not going to make any differece for BN/umno by all this ex-anwar boys joining umno if they dont bring along with them any elected rep like MP's or State Assemblymen from Pakatan Rakyat to join them in BN.please remember this boys left Keadilan thinking this party is gone for good!.now they cannot go back to anwar...only way left for them to become active in politics is by using umno again...

  21. WTF, it makes no difference. Even if PR put goats or lembus vs these scums in an election, we will vote for the goats and lembus carrying the PR banner.

  22. The invisible hand is at it again

KJ is losing clout in Pemuda and this is the step prior to next UMNO election.

He's adding his proxy in UMNO.

There will be some real big money politics in the pipeline. filthy big i guess.

Mukhriz will have to start campaigning hard now.

The ex PKR need to be watched.

Perhaps DSAI beginning to see it will be much easier to become PM under UMNO.

He only has to buy his way into UMNO and in the mean time plant his people to make that in-roads.

UMNO members has the history of being bought.

It's time to draw a line between the hardcore and the spineless.

I'm not surprised if AAB suddenly accepts DSAI into UMNO, PKR dissolved, and a new election to be called.

AAB will use this excuse for the malays as uniting the malay to strengthened his position and thus obtaining stronger mandate.

This is his political survival and to collaborate with DSAI seems more viable for him to stay in power for at least another term.

Then DSAI will step in as PM and later followed by KJ.

    How's that?

  23. ezam's about turn should be eye opener for UMNO. Go to youtube and hear his "sumpah keramat"

UMNO is blind and deaf or must be clutching straws that they are willing to accept someone that has been condemning umno.

    I smell a rat..maybe he is planted.

  24. Never be bothered bout this type of politicians. No principle! It's not going to make any difference or any impact of the current political scenario.

  25. As Mahathir is predicting,
eventually Anwar's own plan is to enter UMNO after becoming the PM.
PKR will get integrated or be dissolved.
Anwas has no ohter interest but to rule the country he once missed by inches.
And dont blame Anwar for playing all tricks and lies.. everyone is doing it, Mahathir too did it.
Anwar will change colors to time!
    Believe it.!!!

  26. As a non Malaysian who has been following politics closely, and having had vast experience in covering Politics in my own country,
I feel sorry for the Indians, Perhaps even the Chinese.
It is not what it seems, from my experience.
UMNO is not going to crash!
Nor is PKR going to Lose.
DAP and PAS will end up with nothing.
MCA and MIC will be the ones crumbled, and the minorities will be the one with utter loss!!
